School of Gemmology

We are the earliest college that established majors related to Gemmology among the colleges of the same kind in Hubei. The majors are gemmology and materials technology, product design (jewelry design),and jewelry design and craft. The cultivation of this school has a prestige in domestic jewelry industry and jewelry education field.

To reflect the teaching specialty of this school, the college has signed a GIC jewelry education joint supervision agreement with Gemology School of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). The vocational certificate training courses were brought into the teaching plan, students can finish their own major courses, as well as owning those vocational certificates such as gem appraiser and jewelry designer. Currently, the school is preparing to build 4 Master’s Studios, which are enamel craft, jade carving craft, traditional craft, han embroider. With these studios, students can have more chances to improve their practical abilities.
